It was a spirited ANZAC Day celebration at The Local in Darlo with games of Two-up facilitated throughout the day by Taphouse 'Beer & Cellar Dude", David (Ossy) Osgood. Punters got right into the spirit of it from the start with $50 bets being laid down within the first few games...
For ‘The Critics Choice Countdown Top 100 Beers of 2012’ we tapped the delicious, Hargreaves Hill ESB, which was announced on the day at position number 10. This ale is a 'new world' interpretation of the classic English style that carries hefty bitterness from substantial dry-hopping with a selection of US, NZ, and Aussie hops. We'll be tapping all of the top 12 over the period of the announcement. Congrats today to Two Birds at number 5 with their Sunset Ale!
It was great see the crowd buying servicemen and women drinks, and new staff members Shelley and Nathan getting their beer knowledge on from behind the bar.
All in all, a fantastic day...
