Darlinghurst Gets Goated

After a few months of smaller, more intimate Ale Stars sessions up in the middle level, we returned to the main bar due to the huge pull of Mountain Goat, the granddaddies of Aussie Craft Beer. We were joined by Dave and Luke from Mountain Goat, and they regaled us with stories of the breweries history, the colourful characters inside the brewery and the excellent beers that are loved by so many Aussie drinkers. We were also lucky to have our Ale Star Tsar Doc back in the house after a 3 month leave of absence.

Whiskey with Wilfred in Darlinghurst

With a new year comes a new adventure for us here at The Local & after a huge interest was shown from our followers and our loyal Ale Star members, we have decided to put on our very first monthly
"Whiskey in Wilfreds" night with a permanent addition of 20 whisk(e)y's straight off the top shelf to join our boutique collection of unique beer and spirits.

Hosted by one of Australia's leading whiskey experts - "Whiskey In Wilfreds" is all about taking you on a journey into the world of some of the finest Single Malt whiskey's; from the Highlands, the Lowlands, Speydside, The Islands, Islay, Japanese, American and our own Tassie 'Lark'

Included in the ticket price you will get a paddle of 5 delicious whiskey's (to match our tried and tested beer paddle formula) as well as matching food and banter.
We will focus on them one by one, making tasting notes and listening to the history of one of the oldest spirits in the world all while listening to the cool sounds of jazz, blues and cigar music.

Whether you are keen on expanding your knowledge or simply trying something different on a Wednesday night, it will definitely be a great night here at The Local Taphouse.

Tickets are limited and only $40, please book here to join in the fun!

* The full whiskey list will be released closer to the date. Stay tuned.
