Growlers coming!

After many, many months of research, it's looking increasingy likely that we will shortly be able to sell growlers of craft beer from the tap for takeaway. To the best of my knowledge, this will be the first time that growlers will be available for sale in Australia, other than at a few microbreweries' cellar doors (Murrays for instance).

For those who don't know what growlers are, they are re-sealable and re-usable bottles of almost 2 litres capacity (see photo above) which we fill directly from the tap and you consume at home. When you finish it, you simply bring it back for a refill!

We're still working out the finer details but what's looking certain is that you will soon be able to bring some of the excellent craft beers we painstakingly source home with you from the Taphouses!

The boys at Slowbeer in Melbourne are also gearing up for them as well so fun times are ahead for lovers of craft beer.

  1. Great news!!! Any idea about an ETA? Months? Weeks? Hours?!! Haha, I kid. But seriously, great work guys. Hopefully the rest of the public is as excited as I am.

  2. Realistically, it will be several months I reckon. I'm excited too but it'll be worth the wait.

  3. Yeah cool. I figured as much, but yeah definitely worth the wait. Are you thinking it will be all beers available or just a select few?

  4. mmmm, hargreaves hill esb in the comfort of my own home! I'd buy that for a dollar.
