The international charity, Room To Read, held another successful Beers for Books fundraiser at The Local Taphouse Darlo on 18 August. The charity supports literacy in third world countries on the premise that $1 can buy a book and help children learn to read.
We donated $1 from every beer sold on the night downstairs - a total of $359!
This event doubled as a catch up for the Beers for Books team who ran in the City to Surf, which was held in Sydney the previous week. No doubt the weary muscles were eased by one or two pints!
