Over $2,000 raised in Danma Fundraiser at Darlo - 16th November
The Local Taphouse Darlinghurst was the venue for a fundraiser to raise money to assist in bringing a young Tibetan woman, Danma, to Australia to further her education. Des wife, Rachel, was the instigator of the event, having recently secured a full scholarship for Danma at INSEARCH at UTS.
The night was given a fun edge by the great crew from the Sydney Roller Derby league who came along and had races around the downstairs bar. The girls cranked it up as they battled for key position on the tight corners.
Fundraising was a great success with raffles, $1 from every beer sold and race bets contributing to over $2,000 being raised for Danma.
Big thanks to Rachel for organising such a fun and worthy event.
