Good things come to those who wait as the Darlo roof terrace finally opens!

The Local Taphouse in Darlo opens the much anticipated roof terrace today. The builders are putting the finishing touches to the terrace, the beers are tapped and the sun is shining so drop in for a glass of your favourite beer.

The staff trialled the roof terrace last night at the XMAS party and all systems are go. With a capacity of 95 people and trading seven days a week from midday until 10pm (except Sunday when it's closed at 9pm), it's the perfect spot to while away a lazy afternoon during the festive season and beyond.

Tables are able to reserved on the terrace during the afternoon on 9360 0088.

See the slideshow below to see the building process from beginning to end.

  1. I'm pretty excited to check this out. Will children be allowed up there? That's the only thing stopping me from always being at the taphouse.

  2. Hey Dan. If supervised, kids are always welcome although it's pretty rare we see children during the busier evening times. We don't have a specific children's menu either.

Given we will now be opening the roof terrace (and ground floor bar) from midday every day, I am fully expecting to see young children on the roof terrace some afternoons. Given it's on the roof, however, I can't imagine it would be much fun getting a pram up there for the wee ones!

    Does that help?

  3. yes, thank you!

I had assumed that the ground floor area would be off limits to children, just from past experience of getting kicked out of pubs. Planning an afternoon birthday so I reckon I'll be there.
