Big crowds queue at GABS 2011 in Darlo

The GABS in Darlo got off to a rocking start as 60 or more beer enthusiasts queued from 11am to be one of the first to sample the fine selection of 18 unique beers on offer for the day!

Paddles were flowing freely as the Beer Diva, Kirrily Waldhorn, and her group (pictured above) managed to snare a booth to kick back and wile away a few hours discussing the great selection from some of Australia's top craft brewers. The pace was a cracker and it wasn't long before the staff were ringing the bell to signal the end of each keg. There were plenty of local brewers and beer industry identities in attendance so it was a particularly convivial atmosphere!

The staff got into the spirit with an array of themed costumes and the beer flowed freely through til 4pm when the heavens opened and all but the most hardcore customers on the roof terrace were sent fleeing to the downstairs bars. The Jess Beck Quartet warmed up the crowd in the ground floor bar closely followed by Roxanne into the night.

A great day was had by all and a huge thanks to all the brewers for supporting the day.
