BrewDog's James Watt features in Taphouse's special events for Melbourne's Good Beer Week

We are thrilled to be involved with Melbourne's Good Beer Week initiative. To be held on the week of the Australian International Beer Awards in mid May, GBW is designed to showcase those businesses who showcase good beer around Melbourne.

When Beer Deluxe's Barney Mathews asked what events The Local Taphouse could run that week, we put our thinking caps on and came up with the following three extra special events:

Tuesday May 17thBrewDog Ale Star session with James Watt as very special guest (he is in the Sydney Taphouse the night before). With their slogan "Beer for Punks", the unconventional BrewDog brewery are stirring up the craft beer scene in their native Scotland and beyond, attracting plenty of mainstream press attention along the way. 7pm and $40 for pizza/beers. Tickets on sale via the Event Diary on thelocal.com.au or here.

Thursday May 19thBrewers & Chewers (A Dinner Party with Respected Champions of Craft Beer) – To be held downstairs, special guests will rotate around the dining tables (when a bell rings!) to socialise with all diners. Confirmed Champions include Brad Rogers (Stone & Wood), Brendan Varis (Feral), Kirrily Waldhorn (Beer Diva), Søren Eriksen (8 Wired) and James Watt (Brewdog). Price $75. Tickets on sale via the Event Diary on thelocal.com.au or here.

Saturday May 21st The Kiwi Beer SpecTAPular our autumn beer festival featuring 20 of the best NZ craft beers on tap. Midday until 1am. Minimum gold coin donation on entry with all proceeds going to a good cause. No bookings required.
