Winter Beer Diva @ Darlo was another hit

Wednesday night a few weeks ago saw the return of our wonderful host Kirrily the "Beer Diva" for our much anticipated Winter Beer & Food Feast. The Louvre Room held 25 hungry beer enthusiasts (and one wine drinker *gasp!*) for 4 delicious courses matched with an incredible selection of beers.

With 3 birthdays being celebrated including a big group at the back for Damien's 40th, there was a great atmosphere as the guests kicked off the night with their glasses of Weihenstephan Hefeweizen. Then the winter warming began with the first of 4 winter courses, the French Onion Soup. The guests were then guided through the evening by Kirrily exploring the different beer and food combinations.

Keeping with the winter theme some great dark beers accompanied the entrée of braised ham hock terrine (Mildura Choc Hops, and Yeastie Boys Pot Kettle Black). Then came the oh so hearty Wagyu beef Rex Attitude and Chorizo Braise, and to go with it the Nelson hopped IPA Is Dead by the one and only BrewDog.

Later, the fantastic 8.5%
Mornington Imperial IPA was a perfect match for the array of cheeses and lastly came the truffles - leaving the guests with a wonderful warm winter glow!

Thanks again Kirrily for another great evening and thanks to Dave and Mitch in the kitchen for the fantastic winter fare.

Keep your eyes peeled to this blog for the next Beer Diva feast!
