Taphouse TV likely to launch with a Brooklyn Brewery 'Q & Ales' session with Garrett Oliver

We're pretty pumped about a new idea which we'll be introducing soon.

Q & Ales is inspired by the ABC's Q&A programme and will feature at occasional Ale Star sessions. Craft beer luminaries from around the world will be beamed live into one of the Taphouses for an hour long discussion with a moderator and the Ale Star audience.

Q & Ales will be filmed and edited before being added to a new YouTube channel called Taphouse TV. Over time, we hope to create a catalogue of video interviews featuring these fascinating guests.

As well as the Ale Star audience, craft beer lovers from around the country will have the opportunity to put forward questions (including video questions!) prior to the recording and a selection will be put to the special guest.

Garrett Oliver, Brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewery (and seen above) will probably be the first guest in October (exact date TBC) as it will coincide with the launch of the broader Brooklyn Brewery bottle beer range in Australia. His next book - The Oxford Companion to Beer - will be out in a couple of months and will cover 1,120 subjects ranging over all aspect of beer and beer culture – 160 writers from 24 countries.

We will continue to have guests in person at Ale Stars but this idea allows us to open the door to a far greater number of guests we'd like to hear from. We have a long list of potential international guests we're now contacting but if you have any suggestions we'd love to hear them.

Watch this space for more news.
