Australia Day at The Local in Darlinghurst

This coming Australia we want to see you on this Roof Garden. Not only will we be counting down the Hottest 100 Craft Beers of 2012 as voted by you, but we also be broadcasting the quintessential soundtrack to your Australia Day with the Triple J Hottest 100 as well as a bunch of Aussie tunes that couldn't get any more Australian if a Kangaroo wrote them while eating a Lamington out of it's pouch!

Sound good so far? How about the fact that we will actually have on tap 8 of the top 10 Hottest 100 Beers! Winning.
The Local staff will be in full attire and we hope to see you in the same.
We know you'll need something to soak up the beer so check out Head Chef David Thackray's new menu for a New Year....

After lunch get yourself ready to jive alongside Funkdafied's JC and his pal DJ Mike Who will be live on-stage from 8pm spinning jazz, funk, soul and general party vibes.
To reserve a table (recommended to avoid disappointment) please email dom@thelocal.com.au

We can't wait for this Saturday as it's going to be another amazing weekend at your Local.

Hot stuff in St Kilda x100

Celebrations were high as Melbourne graced us all with more glorious weather for this year's Australia Day. The beers flowed, Triple J pumped and the exciting news of the Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers of 2011 was released.

As Triple J revealed the top 10 hottest tunes of 2011, we in turn revealed the top 10 Aussie craft beers of 2011 voted for by the general public over the last month. There was much anticipation and debate about who would come out on top and the results showed a great variety of breweries from all across Australia. The chatting online around the country saw record numbers of people hitting the Crafty Pint and Australian Brews News websites, not to mention our own.

A massive congratulations to all the guys at Stone & Wood who took the number 1 spot with their excellent 'Pacific Ale'. A close 2nd was Little Creatures with their Pale Ale followed by Feral Brewing Co with the delicious Hop Hog IPA.

Thanks to all those who got involved and voted and congratulations to all the brewers and breweries who made it into the top 100. The more awareness we can shine on craft beer the better. Here's to next year's Hottest 100 Aussie craft Beers being even bigger again!

See the full list of the Hottest 100 Craft Beers here.
