As you probably know, each season since we opened, we have held SpecTAPular beerfests each season with many different beer themes (Winter Beers, Anzac Day, Hopping Mad, Moose & Mountie, Star Spangled, Summer Beers, Oktoberfest etc). Our 11th SpecTAPular (!) will be held in both venues next February (exact Saturday TBC) and will be possibly our best yet.
The Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular is primarily an invitational beerfest where Australian craft breweries brew a special beer just for the occasion or launch a new seasonal for the first time! Expect to sample incredible and exclusive beers from Murrays (NSW), Bridge Road (VIC), Feral (WA), Last Drop (WA), Mountain Goat (VIC), 4 Pines (NSW), Brew Boys (SA), Wig & Pen (ACT), Hargreaves Hill (VIC) and Stone & Wood (NSW). More breweries will be confirmed in coming weeks. The rest of the taps (if there are any!) will features a selection of great - but regularly available - Australian craft beers.
Our ambitions for this summer G.A.B.S concept is to ultimately bring it offsite in Sydney & Melbourne in future. This would be especially cool if we can make it happen!
As to the style of the special brews? Well that's entirely up to the brewers – it could be a historic style done brilliantly, an innovative style never seen in Australia (or anywhere) before or something altogether different to forge new frontiers in great beer..
