Darlo Ale Stars gets all Trappisty

Darlo Ale Stars this month tasted a delicious line up of Trappist Ales from Belgium. On hand was special guest Michael Lonard who was representing Beer Importers and Distributors who are Australia's leading importers of Belgian beers.

A healthy crowd of nearly 50 rocked in to sample some of Belgians finest. First up was a pretty large footy club style shirt presentation with several members coming up to collect their embroided 'uniform'.

The beers kicked off with the polarisingly sour Orval and moving on to Chimay, Rochefort 6, Achel Blonde and Westamalle Dubbel. Opinion was well and truly divide as to which was the best but Westmalle and Chimay probably took the cake.

A great night was had by all. A special thanks to Michael Lonard for making himself available and providing such a great bunch of beers.

Next Ale Stars we look at blending beers with other beers or things other than beer! Sound interesting? You bet. Click here to book tix for $35 which includes beer and pizza.
