Ninkasi’s Angel launched in St Kilda
The launch of the Southern Hemisphere's first beer brewed entirely by women kicked off with a flurry of activity with Kirrily, the Beer Diva, arriving down from Sydney with luggage in tow, and the other Women of Beer arriving soon after.
The brew has brought together the talents of True South’s Sam Fuss, Red Hill’s Karen Golding, Two Birds’ Jayne Lewis, Matilda Bay’s Aine O’Hora, Hargreaves Hill’s Beth Williams and of course, Kirrily Waldhorn.
Ninkasi’s Angel, an elegant 7.8% Belgian Tripel, is brewed with cassia bark, Tasmanian pepper berries and a selection of other beautiful aromats.
Two of the personally signed, hand waxed sealed bottles were auctioned off with the flare of Sam Fuss - auctioneer extraordinaire! The winners were Fi and Mel of Mrs Parma's, and Simon of Hargreaves Hill Brewery. The proceeds of nearly $700 will be donated to the McGrath Foundation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All other sales of the beer from the brewery will also go to the Foundation.
Well done ladies! ...when will the next brew be??? Keep up the fantastic work!
