Nogne O's Kjetil visits the Darlo Ale Stars

Playing the pronunciation game.
As a new week dawns up in Darlo, the time is nigh to reflect on an action packed seven days of a couple of weeks ago. Sunday, 20th of May brought us the latest installment of the Ale Stars beer appreciation sessions. This month's session focused on the groundbreaking ales of Norway's iconic Nogne O brewery.

Fresh from a promotional tour of Melbourne's Good Beer Week, founding brewer Kjetil Jikiun made the trip to Sydney to share his insights, tales and philosophies with his captive and awestruck local audience. I enjoyed the honour of introducing the man whose ales I've sipped, savoured and reserved for only the most worthy of occasions. Impressive in stature, this Nordic BFG was eloquent, verbose and inspiring. Between trivia, Doc's unparalleled pool of beery knowledge and Kjetle's story telling, we sampled the Nogne O Brown, Saison, Porter and finally the '500' Imperial IPA. Satisfied, satiated (and a little marinated), the sixty strong Sunday night audience left with a collective smile extending from ear to rear.

From next month, Ale Star sessions in Darlo will now be the third Wednesday of each month and we'll announce the next session theme shortly.
