A Trappist experience at Darlo Ale Stars - coming up on March 1st

The next Darlo Ale Star beer appreciation session on Tuesday, 1st March, is about the famed Trappist Ales and will include 5 samples from Chimay, Orval, Achel, Westmalle and Rochefort. Our guide will be special guest, Michael Lonard, from Beer Importers & Distributors.

A Trappist beer is a beer brewed by or under control of Trappist monks. Of the world's 171 Trappist monasteries (as of April 2005), seven produce beer (six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands). Only these seven breweries are authorized to label their beers with the Authentic Trappist Product logo that indicates a compliance to various rules edicted by the International Trappist Association.

The 5 beers are as follows:

- Orval 6.5% ABV
- Chimay Blanche - Tripel 8% ABV (on tap)
- Achel Blonde 8% ABV
- Westmalle Dubbel 7%ABV
- Rochefort 6 - Brown Beer 7.5% ABV

Tix are $35 and you can book via our website's Event Diary. How gets under from 7pm.
